Canon Software to use on Mac OS 10.13.6

Hi-

I have a Powershot SX40 HS camera that I bought in 2012, which I then used with an older computer.

I would now like to transfer pictures from it to my new MacBook Pro [OS 10.13.6, High Sierra]

I am having a hard time finding pertinent software on the Canon sites that I can install on my computer so I can still transfer my pictures.

Any advice or suggestions?
