      <title>Rebel XT using Software for windows 7-64b</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have been using windows xp for my Rebel XT, I have my disks that came with the camera and i have up graded as upgrades were available from canon but when i used my computer to look and down load the upgrades for windows 7 64 there was no EOS utility availble for windows 7 -64bit computer and no explantion of what to do. i searched the forum and did not see this situation, my qusetion what do i do about a EOS utility I always used it to start the down load my pictures from the camera?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;all help and advise appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I use it frequently with Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;That said, I agree with those who tell you to get and use a card reader. The EOS utility is useful for revising camera settings, etc. I change copyright notices frequently, so it saves me a lot of tedious character entry. But using it (any version) to upload pictures is more trouble than it's worth.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>I agree about using card reader for downloading, but also use EU for other things, like Bob says.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I think the OP's problem is that later versions of EU don't support earlier versions of cameras. The latest version doesn't list XT as a supported camera.</description>
