Have you ever been able to connect the new phone to the camera?

Have you checked that Wi-Fi and USB are enabled?

Have you visited the first page of the Wireless menus and told the camera what type of wireless connection you want to establish?

I got a new phone last year (iPhone 16e) and now when I try to use the Camera Connect app I am having trouble with the app not connecting via Bluetooth to my camera (EOS R6 Mark II) at all.

I am able to connect with WiFi and USB in order to transfer photos but I am still unable to transfer firmware updates even through WiFi or USB. I have attached a picture showing the error message I get when trying to transfer the firmware update via both USB and WiFi.

Any tips about how to install the firmware update and how to connect via Bluetooth would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In addition to my colleague's questions, please verify that a prior firmware file does not exist on the SD card. Check the root directory for a previous or incomplete download.

Hem. I have tried to update using Canon Connect, too. It didn’t work for me, either. When you do an update with an SD card, it is best to have only one card in the camera. I wonder if both cards need to be removed to do it wirelessly.

Greetings,

Unless this has changed 🤔

Based on previous function, at least one card has to be in the camera. The firmware file is copied to it before the upgrade is performed using the Canon Connect app.

Future functionality: At some point you may be able to upgrade the firmware directly from Canon's servers. I believe this is on the product roadmap, but I don't believe it's been implemented yet. I think it's going to be some time before this changes. If the wireless communication is interrupted, the camera would brick.

Unless you format the card before connecting to the app, a previous firmware file will remain on the card until it's formatted. A firmware update will fail if a previous version remains on the card.
