Thank you for your reply. Adobe had me do that, but it didn't work. I got in touch with the cord manufacturer and here's what they said regarding their 5G cord:

Thanks for getting back in touch on this. We generally want to complete troubleshooting in order to understand what is causing the behavior. However, we don not recommend this cable for use with any Canon cameras. We have been seeing some issues with the R-Series cameras when using USB-C connections. You can learn more about this issue on this page.

To summarize the issue described in the link above:

Canon R-Series cameras do not provide a user setting that can turn off Power Delivery, which is known to interfere with tethered connections on USB-C cameras. Therefore, we do not recommend USB-C to USB-C cables that support Power Delivery for use with these cameras

Our Recommendation for Canon R-Series cameras using a USB-C computer port is to use our Optima 10G cables.

The Optima 10G cables have been developed to both support the fastest available transfer speeds, as well as to remove the Power Delivery capability in order to provide the most stable and reliable connection possible

Even though this is not an issue with the cable (rather, it is the design of the camera), we would like to offer a ‘return for store credit’ for this cable. This would allow us to provide you with a Store Credit for the amount of the cable that you purchased. You could then use that credit to apply towards the purchase of your desired Optima 10G cable, which we recommend for your camera. Please note that the Store Credit would only be able to be used on our online store, TetherTools.com

If you would like to do that, please let us know. To move forward with this approach we would also need a bit of information from you.

At your convenience, can you please provide us with the following items:

Name, Phone Number, Email and Shipping Address

A picture of the cable cut (please cut the cable in lieu of returning the cable)

Hopefully that information is helpful, but please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thanks again for contacting Imaging Brands.

The camera shows a connection with each of the above utilities, but they won't capture photos. I'm using firmware V 1.6.0 with a TetherPro USB Type-C Male to USB Type-C Male Cable (15', Orange) cord. The camera works fine otherwise.

I contacted Adobe for a fix, but the steps they provided did not work.

I then tried connecting my EOS R7, and it captured photos using both utilities.

Could this be a firmware problem?

My HP specs:

Lightroom Classic version: 15.3 [ 202604090947-8f3672ed ]
License: Creative Cloud
Language setting: en
Operating system: Windows 11 - Home Premium Edition
Version: 11.0.26200
Application architecture: x64
System architecture: x64
Logical processor count: 12
Processor speed: 2.6GHz
SqLite Version: 3.36.0
Adobe GSDK Version: 1.4.0.213

CPU Utilisation: 0.0%
Power Source: Plugged In
Built-in memory: 16077.4 MB
Dedicated GPU memory used by Lightroom: 42.6MB / 128.0MB (33%)
Real memory available to Lightroom: 16077.4 MB
Real memory used by Lightroom: 846.1 MB (5.2%)
Virtual memory used by Lightroom: 731.5 MB
GDI objects count: 865
USER objects count: 3963
Process handles count: 2662
Memory cache size: 0.0MB
Internal Camera Raw version: 18.3 [ 2527 ]
Maximum thread count used by Camera Raw: 5
Camera Raw SIMD optimization: SSE2,AVX,AVX2
Camera Raw virtual memory: 0MB / 8038MB (0%)
Camera Raw real memory: 3MB / 16077MB (0%)

Cache1:
NT- RAM:0.0MB, VRAM:0.0MB, Combined:0.0MB

Cache2:
m:0.0MB, n:0.0MB

U-main: 100.0MB

System DPI setting: 144 DPI (high DPI mode)
Desktop composition enabled: Yes
Standard Preview Size: 1920 pixels
Displays: 1) 1920x1280
Input types: Multitouch: Yes, Integrated touch: Yes, Integrated pen: Yes, External touch: No, External pen: No, Keyboard: Yes

Graphics Processor Info:
DirectX: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics (31.0.101.4502)
Init State: GPU for Display supported by default with image processing and export supported in the custom mode
User Preference: Auto
Enable HDR in Library: ON
GPU for Preview Generation: Auto (S4_0)

Application folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic
Library Path: C:\Pictures\Portraits\Portraits.lrcat
Settings Folder: C:\Users\9999s\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom

Installed Plugins:
1) AdobeStock
2) Epson Print Layout
3) Flickr
4) HDR Efex Pro 2
5) SmugMug

Config.lua flags:

Adapter #1: Vendor : 8086
Device : 46a8
Subsystem : 893e103c
Revision : c
Video Memory : 128
Adapter #2: Vendor : 1414
Device : 8c
Subsystem : 0
Revision : 0
Video Memory : 0
AudioDeviceIOBlockSize: 1024
AudioDeviceName: System Default - Speaker (Realtek(R) Audio)
AudioDeviceNumberOfChannels: 2
AudioDeviceSampleRate: 48000
Build: LR5x34

Hello, SLF!

Canon Support may have already had you try this, but make sure that your USB destination is set properly in the camera. Go to the wrench > tab 5 > "Choose USB connection app". Just to make sure it's set properly. Default is "Photo Import/Remote Control", which should work with LRc. I would try the EOS Utility option to see if EOSU will connect.
