You may already know that I'm not happy with this "improved" version of the 360 HS, and this latest issue doesn't help: When I took a short video today, and then sync'ed the photos and video to image.com (you have no choice in that matter), the video didn't download, and I cannot find it within image.canon. I thought at first it had skipped the video, so I clicked "image sync" again and the camera tells me there are no files left for syncing - so where did the video file go?

I can see why this would be a major point of frustration, especially given your history with the 360 HS. It feels like a "black box" when the camera claims the job is done but the file is nowhere to be found in your image.canon library.

Technically, the behavior you're seeing—where the camera says "no files left"—indicates that the internal "transfer flag" for that video has been toggled to "Complete." Once the camera believes it has handed the file off to the server, it stops looking at it. Since the ELPH 360 HS records in MP4 (H.264), the file is definitely supported, so the issue is likely a breakdown in the communication protocol.

A few things usually cause this "disappearing" act:

The "Still Images Only" Filter: In the [Image Sync] settings, there is a sub-menu to define what gets sent. If this accidentally defaulted to "Still images only," the camera skips the video and marks the session finished.

Processing Delays: image.canon occasionally takes longer to "ingest" and display video files compared to photos. If it’s a longer clip, it may still be in the cloud's background processing queue.

Connection Timeouts: If the Wi-Fi signal dipped while the video packet was sending, the camera may have misread the server's response as a "Success" and cleared its queue.

Because the camera now thinks the file is gone, it won't re-sync it. To get that specific video, your best path forward is a manual transfer using an SD card reader or a USB cable to your PC.

I’ve provided a diagram below to help visualize these two paths. If you continue to see this "skipping" behavior even after checking your settings, I’d recommend reaching out to support.
cloud-manual-download-flow

Okay, thanks. Just another reason to hate this camera. I'll give your suggestions a try.

I did go into "tools" on the camera and saw the choice between "still" and "stills and movies" and made the change. Notwithstanding all that, the best thing Canon can do for its beleaguered owners of the HS A is a firmware update that resets this camera back to the way it worked as an HS. It's ridiculous how complicated it has become to download images to my computer - a one-step process is now muddled with a bunch of intermediate steps that you have to take which makes the whole process tedious and time-consuming. To what good end?
