G7X 2015 Camera not working with EOS

my PowerShot G7X maybe 4-5 years old and has a usb but not sure if this is only a charging input. trying to find out if it will work with EOS so i can use it as a webcam.any help will be awesome.

EOS as used by Canon stands for "Electro Optical System" and refers to the complete range of Cameras and associated equipment so your statement doesn't make much sense, presumably you are referring to software of some sort so we would need more information.

Perhaps you are referencing our new EOS Webcam Utility. If you have the original PowerShot G7X, then that camera isn't compatible, but the PowerShot G7X Mark III is. For more details about that program and which cameras are currently supported, you can visit the link below:

Hi Nick!

Do you know if the EOS Webcam Utility beta is compatible with a G7X Mark II? I keep having the same issue where I intalled it, plug my camera into my macbook, and it doesn't show up in any software, OBS, Skype, etc. I would ideally like to use my G7X Mark II to livestream but I'm unsure if there's a way tot do that.
