There are 3 folders within Camera Window & each has an .exe file. Previously I did choose one & tried to get it to work in compatibility mode but it did not work.

I came across this & it shows what I get when right clicking on the camera’s icon.
https://www.dpreview.com/forums/threads/powershot-a1000-software-wont-run-on-win11.4629237/#post-65977411

The pictures are arranged in groups such as 1 day between groups, & you can change that to 4 days, 4 hours, etc. Using 1 day works for me.

This creates dated folders & copies the appropriate photos into them. That’s how CameraWindow worked.

However since the photos are arranged in sub-folders in the camera (on the SD card), all these sub-folders are also copied. IOW the copied photos are several layers deep into their main dated folder on the PC. I don’t know how to get around this other than re-copying the photos into their main folder or another folder, which it what I've been doing.

I want to put CameraWindow on a new install of Windows 11.I looked for the latest version on Canon's website for my “PowerShot ELPH 100 HS. However it says “PowerShot ELPH 100 HS has been retired. Product support is no longer available. Driver and content updates are not being made.”

So I installed CameraWindow from the disc that came with the camera.. It always worked with Windows 10 but is not working with Windows 11. It does detect the camera.

I looked in the various folders & tried to manually launch the program.
Clicking on MyCamera.exe says “A supported device cannot be found.”
Trying to run CameraLauncher.exe says “Cannot detect camera.”

However Windows Control Panel > Device Manager shows it as a Portable Device/MTP USB Device. Right clicking on that & “Scan for hardware changes” changes the description to the actual model of the camera.

If I go into Windows > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, the camera is listed under Other devices as Canon Digital Camera, and after about 30 seconds it changes to the actual camera model .

Windows 11 knows the camera is connected but the software won’t recognize it.

I’ve done the Uninstall device > Scan for hardware changes but that didn’t work.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?
Thanks

CameraWindow does not create a desktop icon, therefore you cannot click on it. I guess since it suppose to automatically launch when a camera is connected you don't need an icon to click on.

ZoomBrowser EX, the image viewing program creates an icon. It also automatically launches.
