Greetings aarronpina,

I would agree with the information that jrhoffman75 has provided. Please check to see if the prior version of the software will allow for it to detect the camera when both are on the same network. In case you are using a local wireless router to connect the two devices together, then please test to see if using the camera's access point will allow for the EOS Utility software to detect the camera.

Please test to see if a USB connection does allow for the software to detect and interact with the EOS Rebel SL2 camera.

Today, I fired it up for a video shoot and Canon told me there was an update to EOS Utility.
"Great news!"
So, I downloaded it.
Not such great news, because now, my SL2 won't connect to the MacBook Pro: the SL2's LCD prompts me to start the EU, but when I launch it, all options are greyed out (see image). EU Launcher gives the option to "Connect an EOS Camera" (see image, top right), but the SL2 doesn't show up as an option in the EOS Pairing Software (see image, bottom right).
@Stephen - any ideas?

Have you tried direct tethering with a usb cable from camera to MB? Just to see if that works?

If the only change between working and not was the new EOSU you could delete the current version and download an earlier version from the support site.

But, if other things changed, like an operating system update, you may need to be authorizing permissions..

Even if you want to connect via Wi-Fi you should connect camera by USB (be sure to turn off camera Wi-Fi) and be sure camera can be recognized by the computer.
