Desktop software for use of focus wheel

I am looking for a desktop software that will allow for use of a focus wheel/mouse wheel/scroll ring to remotely focus EOS mirrorless cameras while shooting video.

I shoot underwater, the camera being in underwater housing with a tethered cable connecting to the USB-C port on the camera and the other end connected to a laptop on the surface. I have been using EOS Utility to control my cameras remotely, however, the focus buttons may well be good for shooting stills, but for shooting video there needs to be a stepless solution. Does anyone know of a desktop software that allows full manual functionality & live view - as EOS Utility does - however also has a stepless focus function?

I do not know if this will help, but you might try looking at Canon's Power Zoom PZ E-1 adapter for the 18-135 IS USM lens. I just read that when using that in conjunction with the Canon Camera Connect app, you can control both zooming and focusing remotely.

Hi Steve,

nice idea, however that lens is completely impractical for underwater, and the power zoom would not fit in any underwater housing.

Although the autofocus with movie servo is very good, it is far from manual focus. Thanks though

A quick Google search found this. I don’t know much about it. But “PTZ” control suggests security cameras 🎥 to me.
