Just downloaded EOS R10 firmware update. Do I also need lens firmware update?

All,

Just completed downloading this firmware. Besides the 1.6.0 camera firmware there was lens firmware update Ver.1.0.0. Does the lens firmware 1.0.0 need to be updated?

Lens firmware is separate from camera firmware. but 1.0.0 is usually the original firmware version. The firmware screen is simply displaying the current firmware for each.

I had this same question, when I put on my lens (RF-S 10-18mm) to my R10 camera, it said I needed to update. But I couldn't find an update to the lens, only the camera. Updated camera to the 1.6.0, and my lens shows 1.0.4. I just wanted to see how to make sure I'm updated. Thanks!

I read a little more into this- in the firmware update, if you click on the details of the update, it lists everything it is fixing. One of the things it said was: Adds support for RF-S10-18mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens. So looks like the camera was the update, not the lens. Posting just in case anyone else had the same question.
