EOS Rebel T7: How do I transfer photos to pc?

I bought a )USB A) to (mini USB) and i connected it to my pc but when i turn on my camera (Canon Rebel T7) i get no response my pc pops up with nothing even in the files there nothing or in photos does any one know why this is?

Detailed instructions can be found on page 317 of the manual.

1) Disable Wi-Fi /NFC. To do so, hit the Menu button next to the bottom right corner of the back screen and navigate to the last "Wrench" menu, highlight the Wi-Fi/NFC option and press the "Set" button to switch that option to Disable.

2) Make sure you are using a USB A-Male to Mini-B transfer cable.
