Another option might be to use a different app.

I personally use the Camera Connect and Control app that I got off the Google Play Store.

It's a paid app, not free, but I've used it successfully on two different Samsung tablets, the A7 and now on my S9FE.

The app sits on your Google account, so you can use it on multiple devices.

My tablets do not have a SIM card, so when I go to make the initial connection, I tell the app to connect to a computer, not a phone. I haven't had any problems at all.

You can use it wired or wirelessly.

Greetings,

Welcome to the community.

Samsung device, Android 13. Are you using a VPN client on your device?

Lets get some additional information.

"It doesn't completely load". What does this mean exactly? You visit Google Play, you tap on the Canon Connect app. You click install, and what happens? Does it install and add itself as an icon on your desktop?

If yes, what happens when you tap to open it. Please be specific. App opens but nothing displays. Error message displays (what is the error). Do you see a Canon user agreement?

If not, open Android settings, check for special app settings or restrictions. Ensure 3rd party apps are allowed to install and run.

Helpful if you can update the thread with this info.

With camera connect installed on my samsung 9fe tablet I select my wireless network with camera, enter password, auto network settings, start dedicated app on 9fe device, select camera to connect to on tablet, connected smart device can now operate camera and access images on memory card, select yes (on tablet) get disconnected message (camera) get connection failed (tablet). I've also tried a card reader connected to tablet via mini usb with no luck and a cable from the cameras right side cable input to my tablet via mini usb. The tablet doesn't recognize any connected devices using the cable. The card reader shows up in tablet as usb storage device one but am unable to capture anything from the sd card. What am I doing wrong?

I load the canon connect app from Google play. It appears to load but appear faded on screen. I select register camera, select powershot elph360hs, select connection method (wifi), select camera is ready to connect, select next, connect to my network on tablet, select connection to smartphone on camera, select add a device, tablet detects camera device, select my camera show on tablet, camera says connected smart device can now operate camera and access images on memory card, click yes, disconnected. Connection failed. Have to restart canon camera connect by registering camera again, go through same steps, disconnected. Is the canon powershot elph360hs no longer compatible with canon software?

Greetings,

Thanks for clarifying. Apps installs and loads successfully. Issue is with connectivity.

The camera is supported in Canon Connect. The camera supports NFC (bluetooth) and wireless. For image transfer, you will need to use Wi-Fi. There a 2 methods. AP Mode. The camera is the host. It broadcasts the Wi-Fi connection, and the tablet connects to it. Network mode. Camera and tablet connect to the same wireless network. Communication is allowed between connected devices.

I recommend AP Mode. Camera broadcasts, tablet connects to it. Enable the Wi-Fi settings on the camera. Press the Wi-Fi button on the back of the camera. Choose Mobile device/Tablet. Choose Add Device. The camera will now display its network name and password. Now open the settings cog on your tablet. Select Network and Internet. Select Internet > Look for the network name your camera is broadcasting. Select it, enter the password seen on the camera's screen. Your tablet will now connect to the camera. Once this happens, a Bubble Notification will prompt you to open the Canon Connect App. If it doesn't just swipe up to your desktop and open the App manually. You'll be connected now. You can review what I just described in your user guide starting on page 91.

elph360hs-ixus285hs-cu2-en.pdf

I press wifi button, goes to busy, then screen reads transfer images between cameras / connect to smartphone / connect to computer / print from wifi printer / upload to web service. I choose connect to smartphone (used to work), then choose add a device, its searching, start dedicated app on target device comes up asking you to turn on canon connect. After pressing detect camera on tablet / canon connect app, Screen reads connected smart device can now operate camera and access images on memory card with a yes or no button. I choose yes, screen reads connected device smx510 then disconnects. I cannot find AP mode using your directions in order to try.
