You have to update the Canon software, then everything will work, even with Sequoia.
I have now been able to do this successfully. This should take care of the issue for the time being.

https://en.canon-me.com/support/consumer_products/software/eos-utility.html?softwareid=tcm:60-1330031&productid=tcm:60-1990612&os=macOS%2013%20(Ventura)

Hello,
today I did the update and wanted to download pictures from some of my cameras via the EOS Utility. I like the workflow because I can change the file names right away.
Unfortunately, the programme cannot be started successfully. After a few minutes, the programme stops without showing a window and you can then only send an error report or cancel.
I suspect that here too, as with the Webcam Utility, something in the app needs to be adapted due to the extensive changes made by Apple.
The question is, is there a time horizon?
And does anyone know of an alternative tool that I can use to load images from the camera or memory cards and at the same time have the file names automatically adjusted based on some EXIF data?
Thank you for your help and answers.
Take Care
Andreas

Yes supremely irritating when Canon have had months to sort this out. If you use Adobe Bridge then there is a similar "get images form camera" in the file menu - this works. Or Canon's Digital Photo Professional app (free) might work

I use EOS Utility for wireless tethering when I'm in the studio. I tested all of my Adobe Products, and all of my other photo culling and editing softwares. They all worked fine. EOS Utility didn't even cross my mind until I had a headshot client come into the studio. My camera's wifi came over to my computer fine. But when I connected, the next step is for EOS Utility to launch and it never launched. Won't even open when I click on it. Hopefully a new version comes out soon. If not, I'll be reverting back to the old MacOS until Canon pushes out an update.

Why dont they do this in advance of the new OS? It usually takes a couple of months after release before they sort it. It's my big issue with canon. Scanners too. And I am sure other things. Their hardware is great, but their software development for users with OS upgrades is lousy.

I found a workaround. I purchased SmartShooter 5 from TetherTools and have it backup just my JPEGs to a desktop folder I named "Tether". From there, I have Lightroom look for new images going into that "Tether" folder. It's kind of what I did when using EOS Utility to wirelessly tether, but now it's just wired and using SmartShooter instead of EOS Utility. It's $100, but at least I don't have to have my headshot clients waiting around for me to view directly from the card or back of camera.

I just ran into this issue when I updated to Sequoia today. It’s extremely frustrating because I’ll now have to un attach my camera from my teleprompter to get to the SD card and load my photos and video that way. Obviously I need to move away from Canon if they can’t keep things updated.

It is not true. Today I tried to install the last version of EOS Utility o my Mac with Sequoia 15.1.1. but DIN NOT WORK.

A Romanian representative of Canon Romania told me that your EOS Utility does not supprt OS 15.

It is unbelievable to hear this from a company like Canon and my experience was so disappointing that I regret I bought EOS R6 Mark II.

I am going to ruturn it an and by a camera with proper software from othter company.
