topic EOS Utility 3 not showing exposure setting changes made on camera in Camera Software

I have an R5 mark II tethered to a computer using with an interface cable so I can use the Remote Shooting option. I'm using manual mode so I can adjust iso, shutter speed and F-stops. When I change these various parameters they are not reflected on the computer screen. However, the changes are seen in the image thumbnails generated when I take the photo and do show up in the image file info. I need to see the settings changes in live view and not after the image has been taken. Any suggestions welcomed, thanks.

Hi John,

I'm using the most up-to-date version of EOSU 3.18.40, so later version.

I should also mention this is running on a Windows 10 machine. My 5D mark III has no issues using the same setup. The camera firmware was also updated to latest version.

When you make changes on the computer, are you able to see these changes on the camera? You shouldn’t.

The general rule of thumb when using the EOS Utility for remote shooting control is don’t touch the camera. Isn’t that that the whole point of using remote shooting?

I emailed Canon tech support. In EOSU 3 select "Remote Shooting," under the "wrench" tab the "LV func. setting" needs to be set to "Enable" and the "Display simulation" set to "Exposure + DOF." This solved the problem I was having.
