My camera is a 5d my iv the firmware is 1.0.4 can I update to the newest firmware or do I have to do it in stages.

Hi and welcome to the forum:

Firmware updates are cumulative, that is they include all previous firmware updates, so just do the latest.

Wasn't sure, I've never done it before. I've had the camera since new, and just decided to update it.

I hope it is worth it.
