Greetings egoras,

Canon will provide software and firmware updates for our currently supported Canon EOS cameras. I am sorry to inform you that Canon no longer provides firmware updates for the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II camera due to the age of the camera. Unfortunately, there is not an option to provide the file to our customers since it's no longer accessible. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

I have two of 1ds mark ii and I'm looking for the firmware.

Canon needs to provide the firmware to past unsupported cameras because when I'm purchasing a new camera I look to see which companies offer minimal support for legacy cameras. I know at some point the development of firmware needs to stop but at least provide the most recent firmware version or all firmware versions for unsupported cameras.
