I'm using Eclipse Maestro camera-control (via USB cable) software for solar eclipse.

I have a 5D ii running 1.0.7 firmware, works fine..gets recognized by Eclipse Maestro

However, I have 4 additional 5D ii running 2.0.8 (one) 2.1.2 (3)..none of them work!

Closest I could find was:

But, the download link (to Canon Japan) is broken! Tried Archive.org, no go!

Leaving in 1 week for eclipse, recently bought FOUR used 5D ii running recent firmware (2.0.8 - 2.1.2). Kinda in a panic state!

I have a Canon T4i (crop sensor camera) which works fine..go figure!

I don't think getting firmware from a softpedia download is very safe.

Please check your PM. I've provided a link to a safe download for all versions of the 5D Mark II firmwares.

Firmware downgrades are not officially supported by Canon. It can be done but I'm not going to post the process and you'll need to proceed at your own risk. Hope it works out.

Thanks to 2 cognizant experts, they pointed me a site which has the 1.0.7 firmware. Canon 5D ii now WORKS with Eclipse Maestro!!
