sd 1000 software canon no longer supporting having difficulty loading pics to computer

Use a card reader. The older apps that were written for now obsolete Operating Systems are no longer supported by the newer Operating Systems.

As my respected colleague alluded to:
Remove the card from the camera
Use an internal or USB card reader to load the card to your computer. The operating system will see it as a drive
Copy the files across to a hard disc on your computer.
Eject the card
Re-insert into your camera
Format the card clean, using the camera's format command

It's faster, more reliable and simpler than using the camera connected to a computer.
