topic EOS R5 firmware in Camera Software

I have difficulty with firmware update for my EOS R5. No problem downloading the file to my MAC desktop and then copying it to a formated SD card. However when placing the SC card in camera, setting mode to P, navigating to "wrench" and select ing page 5 for firmware update, the update version does not appear.

Any suggestion is appreciated. Wondering why a direct download is not available from website to camera, connected or wirelessly.

MM

Did you unpack the file?

Else you can download via Canon connect and update from your phone.

What specifically did you copy to the SD card using your Mac? Typically, the firmware instructions call out to copy a file (e.g. .FIR) directly to the top-level of the SD card. i.e. not placing it within any folder on the SD card.
