Cant install Canon EOS Utility on Mojave Macbookpro

i did make shure to download from original Canon website and newest Driver and utility app.

The installer whoshes through a progressbar... but no software is installed. i searched my whole drive.

I just tried on High Sierra and have the same problem, it seems to install OK, but the app isn't in my Apps of Utilities folders. Does the webcam utility come to life only when it detects a Canon EOS supported camera attached via USB, perhaps?
