Hi. I'm new to forum. Just purchased refurbished G16 and can't download images inspite of downloading digital photo professional. Any suggestions? Thanks!

DPP isn't a downloader. You should download via Image Capture.

Thanks so much for that clarification. I have downloaded and installed. The G16 i.d.ed my computer and the camera sees the access point (I think) at least it shows it on the list of access points. When I try to link camera to Image Cature it opens with a window that says Camera not connected.
Suggestions? How do I confirm that the camera is seeing the access point? Thanks again for your help.

I don't know that Image capture works via wifi. (I don't connect via wifi.)

There are compatabiliy issues with Canon software and Sierra. You probably should call Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON.
