Greetings,

This is going to come down to your camera configuration or an incorrect setting. The BR-E1 is capable of shooting H+ on the R5 Mark II with electronic shutter with the RF100 500 mounted. Unlike some previous body's, you don't have to use a timer mode for shutter release.

I'm wondering if it might have to do with the remapping to use BBF. Return this setting to default. Use the AF button on the remote to focus then hold the shutter to start shooting H+.

You may also have to adjust the AF release priority. Change from equal to release.

Make sure the switch on the BR-E1 is set to immediate. See page 8.

I own this remote and lens. I'm just not at home to test for you. Let us know if this helps please.

I have a Canon R5 ii & just bought the wireless BR-E1. I want to use it to photograph a nest but need to be able to take multiple H+ photos when important action happens like a parent brings in food. I'm hearing that the wireless remote can only take single photos? (I don't want to do video.) That seems like it would make it useless. Is this correct?

@rfaithnelson it depends on the lens too older adapted EF aren’t capable of H+ shooting. The lens aperture motor is too slow. Most EF lenses max out at 12 FPS because DSLRs are limited to that. Due to the reflex mirror being there. This isn’t a problem with Mirrorless since there isn’t a reflex mirror. So please provide the full and complete names of lenses being used. Including the mount adapter being used and where the mount adapter is Canon or 3rd Party. Or the lenses too.

How many shots are you looking to capture?

My Camera Canon R5 ii & I am using it with my RF lenses. My primary lens is the RF 100-500 L IS USM often with a Canon 1.4 extender. I shoot in electronic shutter if that matters. My camera shoots H+ FPS no problem what I can't figure out is how to get the H+ FPS to shoot with the wireless BR-E1 remote.

I understood your question. Did you understand mine? And why I asked it?

Tell us about how you are operating the remote. Are you pressing and holding the button press?

Hiw would you capture a burst using only the Shutter button on the camera, I can think of three ways to do it?

On my camera I use back button focus. When I am ready to take a photo or series of photos I push the shutter button on the camera. As long as I hold down the shutter button it takes photos, as many FPS as the option I have selected (H, H+, etc.). & continues to take photos as long as I hold down the camera shutter button & the memory/card can write it. I thought I could just hold down the big black button on the wireless to do the same but it seems like it only takes 1 photo each press.

As I understand it, like you have found, the BR-E1 takes one shot at a time and will not let you take a burst even if your camera is set up properly.

I bought the BR-E2 for that reason. It will allow me to shoot burst by holding down the remotes shutter button. Although I can't use all of the buttons on the remote with my R5 II and the RF lenses I have (like your RF 100-500L), it's still a good device. I figure if I do ever need all of the BR-E2's features, which I probably will, I will have it.

Exactly. Your camera configuration is going to be the determining factor for resolving your issue. I foresee creating a custom shooting mode for your shooting scenario.

I also foresee abandoning the wireless trigger because of time delays, and going back to a wired remote.
