You did not say what kind of Mac you have, but do you have USB-A ports? (The rectangular ones)

If you do, then you need USB-A to probably USB-mini-b look to see if your connector looks like this:

This is mini-B

If your mac only has the oval Type-C connectors you will need a Type-A to USB-C adapter like this:

Hello. My husband just passed and this was his late father's camera. I want to learn t use it, but unless I can find either a card adapter, or a PC cord, I am unable to get the pictures off of the camera. Any suggestions where I might be able to find one or the other to connect to my Mac at a reasonable price?

Yes, the right USB cord should work, depending upon which model Mac and IS you have.

Or, you could buy a card reader for the Mac.

next hurdle to clear would be organizing the files, or even using an app to tweak how the look. This last step is known as post processing, or post for short.

If you own a MacBook Air, connect a USB-C or Thunderbolt compatible CF card reader. This plug-and-play device allows you to directly insert the CF (Compact Flash) card to transfer photos to MacBook. Target may have it like Belkin brand card readers. Please make sure it has a CF card slot (large of all) if multi-slots form, or a single port reader exclusively for CF cards. On the other end, the cable must have a Thunderbolt connector designed for MacBook.

The Canon cable is the IFC-200U, but it is really just a USB-A to USB-Mini-B. You can get a generic one of those.

Then you will need the USB-C to USB-A adapter for your Air The One I pictured is the Apple one, called a "USB-C to USB Adapter"

You might be confused because the socket on the 7D does double duty:

It accepts the funky AV cable, but it *also* accepts a standard USB-Mini B.
