Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT spare attachment ring needed

For years I used my trusty Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX out in the field for macro photography. It got exposed to a lot of dust and pollen and sweat, etc. It got cleaned periodically. Eventually, the release button on top of the attachment ring which holds the flash on the end of the lens got too sticky and became stuck in the pushed-in position. It wouldn't hold the flash on. At that point Canon no longer offered service on the MT-24EX. I tried to clean the button to no avail. I eventually decided to disassemble the ring and try to clean the innards. Unfortunately, I am unable to reassemble the ring and Canon no longer offers support so I am SOL on that ring.

I now have the MT-26EX-RT and the attachment ring for that works fine for MT-26EX-RT and MT-24EX.

I fear the same thing will happen to my MT-26EX-RT attachment ring.

I would love to buy a spare new attachment ring for my MT-26EX-RT. Would Canon please offer spare parts for sale? I really like Canon twin flashes, but won't buy another twin flash from Canon if my attachment ring fails again and I can't get a replacement ring. Shouldn't have to buy a new entire flash unit if just the attachment ring fails.

Thanks.

Thank you much NatalyaP!

I called the Parts Order Center. They do sell the attachment ring for the MT-26EX-RT as a separate part. It is a bit pricey, but it's good to have a spare just in case. With all the field work I do, it's probably inevitable that my current one will wear out or get broken at some point (like my MT-24EX one did, after 7 years of field work). So, I bought one.
