Greetings,

I think you're right, it only appears to be available for download under the few cameras it currently supports. Thanks for posting. 🙂

Canon just recently released new software "EOS Multi Remote" to remote control up to 10 cameras. The product announcement says that it "enables synchronized shooting" of multiple cameras with a single release.

This sounds great to me, but I can't find any technical specs about the quality of synchronization. Has anybody found information on this, or tested it ? Hopefully the synch is better than a simple passive trigger. Hopefully there is an option to have individual camera programmable delay if that would improve synchronization, but I couldn't find it in the software manual.

Does anybody have experience with this yet ?

Thanks

Bill

Greetings ,

Canon Singapore has the multi-remote application for Windows available for download

EOS Multi Remote 1.1.10 for Windows https://share.google/xIln1JU3Zxd36K4Bo

EMR Manual

EOS Multi Remote https://share.google/KNwck2Zxjn8IrkyyY

It was released on the 14th of last month. I haven't located it on the Canon USA website as yet. I need to do additional research but this will get you started. Be sure to review the system requirements, list of supported devices and the license agreement.

Thank you for your willingness to do research on this. I don't have any friends who can load me a 2nd camera to test it.

Yes, the Canon USA website has it. The product announcement is at https://app.ssw.imaging-saas.canon/app/en/emr.html?region=1 . The software to download (perhaps only for R1, R5M2, & R3 owners who can use it) at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-r5-mark-ii#idReference%3Dsoftware-drivers and the manual is available at https://cam.start.canon/en/S014/manual/html/index.html . It's a short list of cameras that can use it today; hopefully more will rollout in the future.

The quality of synchronization is critical for many applications, including mine (stereophotography), so I am surprised that they haven't provided any technical details that I can find. It's quite pricey to provide this capability with an external, computer controlled trigger such as an Esper TriggerBox controlled by a PC running Breeze MultiCamera software. It's fantastic if Canon now has this built-in. A great use of the compute power in a modern camera.

Bill
