Canon never made a D5000. They did make a 500D.

Can you confirm the brand and model of your camera please. The D5000 was made by another manufacturer.

I am also not aware of Canon releasing a camera named “D5000”. However, Nikon released a DSLR camera with that name in the late 2000s.
