Sorry, please disregard the question. I was mixing the LP-E6 and LP-E6P batteries. I did not realize the LP-E6 wasn't compatible with the R5 Mark II. I do now. Everything works fine with the LP-E6P.

I just bought a brand new CF-R20EP cooling fan grip, and loaded it with two freshly charged LP-E6 batteries. I followed the assembly instructions to the letter. The R5 Mark II camera screen remained blank with the power switch in the OFF or ON position as though there was no battery. Did I miss something? Thanks.
