EOS R6 Mark II won't focus via Godox TR-TX wireless remote

Hi everyone,

im having problems using my Godox TR-TX wireless remote/intervalometer.

i do a lot of self takes when fishing so the use of an external intervalometer is really important to me however I’ve never had this problem before- in short when half pressing the remote It won’t focus?

has anyone had a similar issue using external intervalometers? If so is there a fix?

(I’ve never had this issue before)

Hi Marc_Cav,

We can’t guarantee how well accessories we don’t make will work with our cameras. That said, you can go into the camera menu and then navigate to custom controls. Check to make sure that the shutter button is set to “Metering and AF Start.” Otherwise that might affect how the trigger button on the intervalometer works.

Good advice from Nick. Setting up BBF removes “AF Start” from the Shutter. This can interfere with remote control, which assume the Shutter will start focusing.

I sometimes use a tablet or a smartphone running Canon Connect to remotely control my camera wirelessly.

custom mode created Remington back button focus has sorted the issue. Thank you both.
