I've got several multimax pocket wizards. I'm trying to set up a pair between a Canon 1DXii as the primary and a Canon R as a remote. I have a known good cable as it is part of a wired set up with a hard button that works when plugged in as a standalone remote. I can't seem to find the right combination of settings to get the wireless combination to work. I thought maybe I had the wrong port on the multimax, but neither port produces a shutter release. I've quaduple checked the channels on the max's and even set the contact time to a second. I get nothing when using the test button on either the trans or receive or the 1dxii. Anyone tried this set up or even a pocketwizard with just the Canon R body?

Trial and error - It appears to use an RF remote to trigger the shutter one has to turn off the AF. Kind of weird since if you are using a wired button into that port, you can leave the AF on.

Start with the basics. Without the remote camera connected. When pressing the test button on the MultiMAX transmitter, does the red light on top of the MultiMAX receiver stay lit until you release the test button?
