I think this is the best solution on filters for all EF lens, don't know why canon haven't make an adapter between lens & body like EF-RF?

"Because if you move the lens away from the body you lose infinity focus."

\Well if the lens was designed to use drop in filters it would work and not affect focus. However the reason for drop in filters is cost. There is not cost benefit for a lens that uses a smaller relatively cheaper front filter vs a very much more expensive drop in filter drawer and filter assembly.

Probably the most used and necessary filter in today's world is the polarizer. Using a drop in filter makes designing them and using them more complex and expensive. Add to that, the fact that most all filters are obsolete today.

He is talking about an adapter - much like a teleconverter - that you can place between *any* EF lens and the camera body to use drop in filters. So these lenses are specifically *not* designed for drop in filter use.

Because the flange-to-sensor distance of the RF mount is less than the EF mount an EF - RF adapter has more room to work with.

Teleconverters have optics that can compensate, a drop-in filter adapter does not.

I do astrophotography. I use 2inch dual narrowband filters to cut out light pollution and moonglow. I also use CLS and quad-band filters for light pollution. While the 2inch filter can easily screw into my telescope, and most telescopes in general, I am also trying to find a drop-in filter drawer that will mount to my T3i which has an EF mount and allow me to connect my EF lenses. There are plenty that adapt from EF mount on the body to other lens mounts or that connect EF lens mounts to ZWO cameras. Just because some of us have different needs for photography, we dont need any of your dismissive and arrogant responses. We are just looking for advice and checking with a community that may be more knowledgeable than we are. We are very aware that astrophotography is a very specialized and niche (and expensive) field of photography. It is hard enough as it is, and we shouldnt be interrogated based on your feeling of superiority and disbelief. I mean jeez, you are such a guru of photography, how could anyone need something that you dont. I am sure you are the gold standard of photography, but you can just give us advice if you want or say you dont know or not even respond. I hope this answers your question of why anyone would need filters, since YOU dont use filters.

Unfortunately there's not going to be anything that can go between an EF mount body and an EF lens that can hold a filter without changing the optical properties of the lens. Even then, the only things are the EF extenders and they don't hold filters, as I'm sure you're aware. EF lens to RF body, sure, due to the differences in the flange distance requirements for each mount.

Your best option to use filters on an EF body with an EF lens is clip-in filters.

Not arguing but for the large part and in fact filters are obsolete. So if there is no real purpose you don’t need them. Except for a very limited situation Photoshop can do the same effect and do it even better
