I am sure you have not mislaid the HDMI / USB support for the EOS R6 Mark II as it does not come with one, and there is no threaded mounting hole to screw one in to the body.

These two images are from the EOS R5, showing the cable protector as part of the kit, and attached to the camera. There is no cable protector in the EOS R6 or EOS R6 Mark II configuration.

Hi there. I'm in need of the subject housing for the R6 mkII. I have an R5 as well, which comes with a cable support but it's not quite the same. I've misplaced the housing for the 6mkII and I'm afraid it's gone forever. I've searched high & low on-line for a replacement and can't find one anywhere. I can't even find a photo of one. Like they don't exist!

I've seen alternative cable clamps from Small Rig but they require their cage which it mounts to and I can't use that in my gimbal application. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks much! - Mike

Greetings,

The Canon parts order desk can help with that.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what gimbal model are you using? And what lens are you using on your camera?

Thanks for the reply and number. I'm using the Weebill 3S gimbal and typically I'll have the 24-70L 2.8 when using it. I have to remove the EVF rubber housing from both the R5 and R6 mkii so it can clear the arm of the gimbal when panning upward but it's no biggie.

I would have bet anything that my R6 mkII came with it despite it not being in the stock photos and not having the same screw-hole as the R5. The mind can play tricks though and that would explain a lot. Why would Canon feel the need to include it with the R5 and not the R6 when the cable inputs are the same?

Product specification decision by Canon. Internal design of the two cameras is different even though they both have those same hdmi and usb connections.

Going back to DSLRs EOS 5D Mark IV & EOS 7D Mark II had a similar cable protection item, but not in EOS 6D Mark II

Rick and Brian thanks again for your replies. I just called Canon (and wow was the a nice experience - No wait and the guy was super knowledgeable) The R6 mkII does not as you mentioned, come with the cable housing. He was as perplexed as I am as to why that is when the R5, which is less video-centric does come with one and has the same cable inputs. Anyway, my mind was indeed playing tricks on me.

One last thought, there’s a product from Tether Tools called the tetherblock arca. It’s basically an arca swiss compatible plate that securely holds cables and it fits on the bottom of the camera.
