I recently found an old Canon UCS1 Hi8 Camcorder and a charger for it. I fully charged the battery and when I went to test it out it would only turn on for 5-10 seconds and power off. Has anyone had a similar problem or know a soloution?

Also does anyone know where I can find an online manual?

Thanks

Sorry for the 4 years late reply but I'm in the same boat, I just bought one from ebay and willing to fix it, My guess is this is a common problem for all the 90's electronics, Bad surface mounted capacitors, Th only way to fix this is to take it a part and replace every surface mounted capacitor, they are a lot but this is a historic camcorder it may be worth something if repaired.

Here is a youtube video of a guy doing the same thing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFMlNB9FkFU
