Sounds like a bad charging circuit. I doubt there is an easy fix.

My Canon FS100 Camcorder is unable to turn on unless it’s charging, and the charging light flashes red no matter how long it is plugged in for.
I purchased a replacement Canon battery on KEH— but the issue still persists.

How do I solve this? I know this is an older camera, but any help would be appreciated

Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon FS100 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the camcorder. We recommend updating to a more modern camcorder and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your camcorder. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.
