Canon Camcorder FS100 unable to work unless plugged into charger unit.

My Canon FS100 Camcorder is unable to turn on unless it’s charging, and the charging light flashes red no matter how long it is plugged in for.
I purchased a replacement Canon battery on KEH— but the issue still persists.

How do I solve this? I know this is an older camera, but any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a bad charging circuit. I doubt there is an easy fix.
