DC210 won't let me unfinalize disc

Hello I just purchased this product used.I hate reading manuals, so that’s why I’m here. Issue is, there is a Sony DVD-RW disc in the unit. It has data that I can playback. When I try to record I get the message “UNFINALIZE THE DISC”. I go to the menu “Disc Operations” where there are 5 or 6 choices with one of them being “UNFINALIZE”. Problem is I cannot select ANY of the choices. There are other entries under Menu and some of the topics have options that I can select and some are highlighted in bold print that I cannot. All the options under “Disc Operations” are highlighted in bold print. Please help, Thanks
