I need free software program to download movie files from a Canon FS300 camcorder to a MacBook Pro. Also might need a free file conversion software / program to convert movie files on my Mac.

Does your MacBook Pro have an SD card slot? If so, that would be the easiest to use to copy footage to your Mac.

What are the targets of your movies (web, Apple devices, other)? Not free, but highly recommend Apple's Compressor application.

I do have a card reader for my Mac. I will give it a try. Thanks for the reply. Jeff
