I was surprised to see that Canon did not refresh their M series camcorders, but only the R series. The problem is that sites like Amazon.com no longer have in stock (only third party sellers) these models, and the third parties are soon to be out of stock. The M series was Canon's best midrange camcorders because they had the great high sensitivity 1/3-inch CMOS sensor. There are no 2013 camcorders with this sensor other than the G20, G30. The R series has a smallish sensor, not as good in low light.

My question is, why is the M series from 2012 out of stock at Amazon and other retailers when there is no replacement for it in 2013? Is Canon going to fill the hole left by this shortage of Canon M Series midrange camcorders? In other words will there be a 2013 M series camcorder? Or is it only to be the inferior R series?

Thanks....
