Some years ago, I saw an ad for a Canon camcorder with an aspect ratio greater than the standard 2:1 ratio (1,920x1,080) format. It boasted a true cinemascope format (16:9?) Is there something like that available today? Or do I have to go to a professional unit? Thanks for any help.

Hi ridgerider,

Thank you for posting. The 1920 x 1080 resolution that our current camcorder models shoot at is a Full HD 16:9 aspect ratio resolution. There is no need to move into a professional level model to get Full HD 16:9 video, unless a more professional level model is something you are looking for.

If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.
