topic VIXIA HF R500. It won't charge. in Camcorders

I have a Canon Vixia HF R500 and it won't charge the battery any more. Once connected to AD adaptor, the red LED turns on as if normally charging, but actually not at all. The camcoder works fine on AC adaptor. I wonder if it is a problem of battery or of the camcoder itself. Also wonder what the solution would be. Thank you.

Same here, but HFS20. And I've tried three separate batteries so far. Nothing. Shipping is starting to cost me since there is no way to find a battery for my apparently obsolete 5 year old camcorder.
