You may download the latest firmware version from the web site by clicking here. Once there, if your operating system is not correctly detected, please choose it using the drop-down menu. Now click on "Firmware" to show the updates.

To access the firmware, click on the [Select] button. You'll need to accept the disclaimer at this point. Once you accept the required disclaimer (please be certain to read the disclaimer completely) you'll be able to download the firmware update.

Once downloaded, the firmware and instructions are contained in the hfr4x-v1020-win (or hfr4x-v1020-mac) folder. Once you open the folder, you'll find the instructions located in the "update-procedure-pdf" folder.

It's important to follow the installation instructions carefully, since a failed installation may cause expensive damage to your camcorder.
