When recording in a large ball room with a Vixia HF R52 how can i lesson the echo sound.

You only have two options. Use an external mic plugged into your R52 and use it close to the subject, reduce or remove the reverb in post production using tools from for example, Synaptic or Izotope, or a combination of both.
