Azden Shotgun microphone

Greetings Canon Community,

I recently started a new job and they have a Sony XA10 videocamera.

Currently, they are using an external shotgun microphone (Azden SGM PDII).

After using it a couple of times, I am not very pleased with the audio quality that I am getting from this mic.

I've used RODE mics before and have been happy with those.

But before making a purchase, I was wondering if this community had any good suggestions about which external mics work well with this model of camera.

I use a Rode NTG-2 on my Canon XA40 with no problem.
