Canon SM-V1 5.1 work on Vixia HF G50 ?

Will the 5.1 microphone work on a Vixia HF G50 ?

The canon site says it will work on a Vixia HFG40 and was wondering if it will work

on the G50.

The SM-V1 5.1 microphone is not mentioned in the HF-G50 user manual, so I'm thinking probably not. And likewise the HF-G60.

Also, to use it on the HF-G40 and earlier compatible models you have to update the camcorder's firmware using a memory card supplied with the SM-V1.
