Does anyone have this? EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM on EOS R10

I am considering buying a ef 70-200 is usm f2.8 and putting it on my r10 but I want to know if anyone have experience with this or know any videos of people doing this? It doesn’t have to be on the r10 but I want to see how the autofocus is on the original is version and I can only find videos of the is III. I have about $1k if anyone would recommend anything else btw

Are you looking for this focal length and constant aperture? The EF 70-200 f 2.8 all variants is one of the best lenses Canon has ever made. The mkII and mkIii are said to be modestly sharper and the 3 later variants have IS.

I have experience with the mkII and now with the RF 70-200 f2.8 (non-Z).

If you must purchase EF for your R10, I suggest saving a little more and buying a mkII or mkIII. The only difference between these lenses is the tone of the white paint and the mkIII has a slightly newer lens coating than the mkII. You will not see any IQ differences between them.

Note, the original EF 70-200 was released in 1995. I would not try to pair this with a mirrorless body.

Pretty much all of the EF 70-200mm F/2.8L USM lens models were very good. For full compatibility with your camera look into the Mark II & III IS models. The original non-IS and version 1 IS models will NOT be able to use the highly advanced AF system or 12 fps. But they'll still work but features will be limited with older lenses. I've used my Mark III IS adapted on EOS R Series cameras. It performs very well and the camera locked focus faster than any DSLR would in low light. I've also adapted my uncle's Mark II IS and original non-IS models. The Mark II outperformed the original non-IS model. A lot of the features in the original R6 were unavailable or simply didn't work reliably. It also couldn't achieve 12 fps which is expected for a lens released in 1995. Cameras couldn't shoot anywhere near 40 fps that a mirrorless camera can today.

I have and use the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens with and EOS R10 as well as EOS R6 and EOS R6 Mark II. I've had this Mk2 version of the lens for some years and used it with DSLRs in the past. Using it on the mirrorless cameras is painless - make sure to use the Canon mount adapters - and the lens delivers the performance it is renowned for. I have no restrictions on the AF capabilities of my cameras when using this lens, and it allows the continuous drive to operate at the maximum speed on the EOS R6. I mention this since some older EF lenses do not allow maximum continuous shooting speed on the EOS R6.

For a long time I have kept this EF lens, because I also used it with the EF 1.4x Extender III for a little extra reach. The first RF 70-200mm lenses could not be used with extenders, though now that is possible with the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 Z version.
