&lt;P&gt;Your camera can use SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. &amp;nbsp;Recommend SDXC. &amp;nbsp;Though avoid UHS-II varieties as the R50 can only work with UHS-I (see page 21 in the &lt;A href="https://cam.start.canon/en/C011/manual/c011.pdf" target="_self"&gt;User Guide&lt;/A&gt; for details).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Stick with reputable brands and purchase from reputable dealers (e.g. Amazon may have counterfeit cards if you're not careful). &amp;nbsp;I personally get my cards from B&amp;amp;H Photo. &amp;nbsp;For UHS-I cards, I've used SanDisk.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When looking at specs on the card, the most important value will be the "V" rating (sustained writes). &amp;nbsp;The theoretical read speed (which most manufacturers place on the card as the most prominent value) really only helps when transfering data off of it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
