Thanks a lot for the advice! I wonder if my 75-300mm would work as telephoto, but will try to find a better one in the market.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to start with a quick disclaimer : I apologise for any mistakes, as English is not my first language.

I have been using my Canon 2000D for quite a while and am ready to upgrade as I have found many limitations with what I currently have :

Grainy images (which I know is due to me maxing out the ISO)

Extremely slow Auto Focus

Blurry images (I often have to decrease the shutter speed to compensate for the lack of light)

Heavy camera

Poor low-light performance

About my photography style, I travel a lot so I mainly use it for nature photography (wild life and landscapes). I know some of my problems can be fixed with a tripod and other accessorises but I wish to travel light with only my camera and a few lenses.

I'm an amateur photographer, and I understand that practice makes perfect but I’m still eager to upgrade 🙂 also I don't mind going from DSLR to Mirrorless.

My budget is around >2 000$ for one cam and one lens (for now), I am also open to buy refurbished gear.

Lenses I currently own :

RFS 18-55mm

75 -300mm

Thanks to anyone that takes the time to read and/or help me out!

Any of the mirrorless will have better autofocus and iso performance.

You already have one of the lightest cameras, so any camera you get is likely to be heavier.

A telephoto with IS will probably improve your images a lot.

My point was that the 75-300 *is* a telephoto, but it does not have Image Stabilization, which is really a must have for long focal length wildlife photos.
