Best Canon EF-EOS R Adapter for Existing EF/EF-S Lenses:

I have been researching the best Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R for the past few days because I have several EF/EF-S lenses that I would like to use with an EOS R camera. I read through several reviews and comparisons, and I have narrowed my options down to these three:

However, I am having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs and would really appreciate your advice.

I mainly want to use my existing EF/EF-S lenses without losing autofocus performance or having compatibility issues. I also like the idea of having a drop-in filter option, but I am not sure if it is worth choosing over a standard adapter.

Which one would you recommend for everyday photography? Any recommendations or personal experience would be appreciated.

To ensure compatibility using a Canon adapter is recommended. Either the standard adapter, the control ring adapter or the ND filter adapter.

It's important to understand that some lenses have limited or no compatibility with mirrorless body's. This can depend on brand or age. Sometimes we hear from folks that are trying to adapt 20-year-old Canon lenses to mirrorless body's. When using older Canon lenses they may not be capable of performing to all of the capabilities of a modern mirrorless body. Achieving maximum frame rates is one example.

Third party lenses are different. These can work very well, have reduced compatibility or not work at all. You may notice focus pulsing, inability to shoot at maximum frame rates, or the inability to shoot video.

Keep in mind this doesn't apply to every situation. It's important to do your research and ensure a lens is capable of keeping up with the faster communication standards of the RF mount. Canon is very good about documenting which of its lenses are fully compatible or if any performance or incompatibilities exist.

With third-party products it's up to that manufacturer, not Canon.

The only third-party adapter I've seen work with Canon mirrorless are Meike. I've only owned Canon so I'm only basing this on what I watched on YouTube and have read. Doing research before you buy is important.
