EOS R50 V + RF75-300mm F4-5.6 : Great for videography?

Hi community users,

I recently purchased the EOS R50 V + RF-S14-30mm-F4-6.3 IS STM PZ Lens Kit this year for vlogging and photography. I'm looking for a telephoto lens that can go 50mm and higher which that is easy to use and affordable.

I checked the most affordable telephoto lens which would be the RF75-300mm F4-5.6 lens. I've seen some YouTube videos review about the lens and a lot of users don't like the lens because the zoom motor makes a loud motor sound, image distortions and doesn't have INBS. Honestly I really don't mind about these disadvantages about the lens because I'd be recording vlogs and photos and I don't want a clean quality experience.

I'm looking for oppinions for this discussion, so drop your oppinions here and tell how you feel about the camera setup combination.

Is this combo good for photography / videography... Yes, no, maybe. Primarily due to the focal length.

Choosing this lens is going to give you a pretty large gap in focal length. Your kit lens stops at 30 mm. The RF 75-300 will give you an equivalent field of view starting at 120 mm. That leaves quite a gap in focal length. Another option might be the RF-S 55-210. This lens cost more than the RF-S 75-300 but it has image stabilization. If you want to consider non-canon alternatives, Sigma has some great APS-C lenses for the R50v. These are licensed by Canon for Sigma.

Choosing the 75-300. About the only thing this lens has going for it is price. It's not known for image quality. It's a low end zoom that can be easily outdone by spending a little more money.

I looked into consider buying 3rd party lens because I know sometimes there affordable and sometimes there manual option to use, but the RF-S 55-210 lens and it's specs seems very great. So I could get the RF-S 55-210 lens but I would like to check other 3rd party lens that are affordable if you have any recommendations for me.

I had the EF 75-300 in my early days of photography back in 2007 - its a very slow lens. I wouldn't recommend. Yes the price is good, but thats it! I agree with shadowsports - the RF-S 55-210 may work. Or I do personally have the RF 24-240mm and its a great lens!

Other lenses that you may want to consider are the Canon RF-S 18-150, the Sigma 18-50 or the Sigma RF 16-300.
