I bought an R6 Mark II and only bought an RF200-800 because my goal was wildlife shooting.

The lens you need totally depends on what you want to shoot, there are several ways you can go but stating some shooting goals with the camera are important for people to help. It doesn't have to be one thing like I stated for an example, you probably have several things you want to shoot, just list some and you get some ideas.

Is this just for General Purpose photography? If so a very good option would be the RF 24-240mm lens it covers most shooting scenarios.

How's it going @watash1965

All three of the lenses mentioned are great on the R5 MkII but I would ask what type of photography would be you primary focus. There are so many great Canon lenses that letting us know what you focus will be would help point you in the right direction.

The RF 24-240mm lens has been with me whenever I travel in is an excellent lens for an all day carry with pretty decent range.

The RF200-800, for it's price point this is a great lens. And like Tom my primary carry for wildlife.

The RF 24-70 f2.8 is an outstanding lens for indoor sports and other indoor events and has just as strong applications outdoors. Being a faster lens really helps with indoor photography with decent lighting. I would post a picture of some sporting events but I make it my policy to not post images of people without their approval. I grabbed this frame coming home from an event, this little guy circled me long enough to grab some cool shots. The IQ is insane.

The Canon RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM Lens is another great Canon lens with a fantastic price point. This lens gives you a bit of flexibility, travel, sports and wildlife. The only drawback is it's a bit slow and needs light.

On the more pricey side The RF 100-500mm which is an outstanding lens, great IQ, compact and fairly light.

In addition to those already mentioned, and again depending on the type of photos you plan to shoot, I’d throw the RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM into the mix. It’s a versatile and reliable lens that’s been a workhorse general purpose lens for many people; myself included.
