Thank you for visiting. Your best source of this sort of information is the manual and online printer resources at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-ts6420a?srsltid=AfmBOopy6D5Q6xFeY0TDobBQF_EWeRjn9eDVXZaDyfXNv55Z5_9SNlgk and the knowledge base at https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/

The T6400 series of manuals is at https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/W/TS6400%20series/EN/CNT/Top.html.

According to the manual the printer supports both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. 5GHz is faster and 2.5 GHz tends to have less interference and reliability issues. I use a WIFI 6 mesh network and 5GHz and have few issues. Dual band is fine and tri-band is as well. See https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Tutorial/TS6400%20series/EN/TRL/trl-a0002.html for more networking detail from the manual.

I apologize that I focused on your wifi and not printer question. If you will shop the Canon web site you will find that Pixma TS-4320 at https://www.usa.canon.com/shop/p/pixma-ts4320 is quite a bargain at only US$59 and receives good overall reviews as well - better reviews that either the Pixma TR4720 or TS6420a and the same or better than the TS6520, which costs US$90 more.

If you require a paper tray/cassette, the TR7720 or TR7820 are about twice as much as the TS4320 and receive good reviews. I personally prefer top-feeding as I do about as much copying as I do printing on a home printer and find top-feeding hugely convenient, so I would spend the extra $10 to get the TR7820 if it were me.

The TS-4320 supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections, according to the printer site above. It also supports borderless printing and 2-sided printing (though I personally never count on duplex printing working in a printer in this price range). It does not have fax capabilities. Do you really need fax in a printer rather than scanning to .pdf and emailing? I haven't used a fax for anything in probably 10 years or so myself.

For light-duty printing requirements the TS-4320 seems like the logical Canon printer choice to me unless you need a paper cassette. Those are the printers recommended on the Canon sales site, as well. I hope this helps you in your decision-making.

for me i normally been just going to the library and using eq there since i would be lucky to print 20 pages a year need.and less any real need for copies and fax since you can use emails/pdf/doc sign plus unsure any real need to scan anything so looking for something to rarely use and simple for non-tech person with android cell and new verizon 5gz router since no fios in area and use to have old dsl plus even found a website where you can fax using your cell phone and nt even needing a printer you just can't receive only send

went on an ordered cannon pixma ts6520 was middle price but higher print speeds and dual wi-fi plus paper storage under printer though went thru amazon and ships only arrives 23-29 jan and added 3 year ext-warranty. don't like the part where only one-color ink cartridge but only need print b/w plus had double sided print to save paper, other option was the lower cost and pick up at Walmart ts3722 or the 69.00 model i saw online in black color that adds a fax function

only issue I've found now is ink replacement which looks simple and easy but very costly for this model and all cannons/ink jet makers. a pack with color and b/w started at 59-150 more than what the printer even cost me at 79.00 and normal size says about 200 print pages and large 400 pages so at least one pack should last me years. plus saw where some offer packs which fit made by cannon for less around 25-35 either thru cannon or Walmart/amazon but have to be shipped not found local pickup yet also this model says doesn't come with adf/automatic doc feeder whatever that is and no fax option like the tr4722 and so on

You will find that same issue on all printer manufacturers, not just Canon. All printer manufacturers practically give the printers away (they may even be losing money on printers for all I know) and make their real long-term profits by selling ink. I've owned HP and Epson printers as well as Canon and it's the same thing with them. Using third-party ink will void your warranty. If, as you indicated, you will hardly ever use the new printer your original your ink will likely outlast your warranty.

I know that on HP unless the cartridge registers to the printer as genuine HP it will not accept it, nor accept the "starter" cartridges. For instance, I purchased several printers on a Black Friday a number of years ago. The printers were actually much cheaper than the replacement ink. I tried to use the "starter" cartridges from a second printer to use up the ink and the printer refused to accept the cartridge. All of this may be new news to you as a new printer owner, but it's just standard business practice for all printer manufacturers, not just Canon.

After about 2 or 3 years I starting using third party ink on my HP printer with great success, as I figured I was lucky to get that much life out of it. I will not use third party ink every with my Canon printer. I have a high-end Canon photo printer and wouldn't think of trying third-party ink their. Even some third-party photo paper produces bad results.
