shadowsports threw out some nice choices and with a 1.6x crop factor mounting the RF 100-400mm lens on the R7 provides a field of view equivalent to a 160-640mm lens.

On the R7 the equivalent of the lenses would be:

RF200-800 = 320-1280mm

RF 100-500 = 160-800mm

Sigma or Tamron 60-600 or 150-600 C or G2 series = 240-960mm

And personally my all day carry when traveling is either the RF24-240mm, RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM or RF24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM

Wildlife Lens Recommendations for R7

Hey everyone! So I recently upgraded to the Canon R7, paired with the RF 100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM lens. An unexpected, but much needed jump from my previous Canon 70D. While I'm not a professional photographer, my main focus is wildlife (especially East African animals), though I also enjoy shooting general-purpose and travel photos.

I'm now looking to add two more lenses to my kit. Ideally, I want lenses that would cater for mainly wildlife, but also general-purpose photography. I’m open to third-party options as well. Any suggestions?

Greetings ,

I'd say take a look at the

RF200-800

RF 100-500

Sigma or Tamron 60-600 or 150-600 C or G2 series.

I have the RF200-800 for wildlife and I love the lens with my R6 MarkII. I have not used the RF100-500 so I really can't comment on it except for it's great reputation. Your need could be different in different areas. In a jungle with a heavy canopy, the RF200-800 could be challenged for light, where in open areas it will give you a lot more reach.
